Snorkeling and diving are just the beginning of many activities featured aboard
with Nekton. Be sure to let your Nekton Activities Director onboard know that you
want to take advantage of Nekton's Surface Interval activities.
Shore Excursions
Ride a tender shuttle ashore to explore quaint island villages, exciting shopping
districts, historic sites such as Christopher Columbus' landing, or remote, white
sandy beaches. Explore ancient Mayan Ruins in Belize.
Kayaking
Paddle off in a two-person, sit-on-top kayak. Explore the lagoon at Conception
Island or the nooks and crannies of Water Cay. Kayaking is not only fun, it's great
exercise too!
Nightly Education and Fun Presentations
Learn to identify coral, fish and reef creatures like the pros.
Learn the skills of underwater photography. Learn about the ocean's endangered species
and how you can help their plight. Even enjoy a magic show on some cruises. Our
crew makes learning fun and you gain new knowledge, awareness and appreciation for
the amazing underwater world.
 Underwater Photography
Nekton's live-aboards are fully equipped with the underwater
photographer in mind. Our knowledgeable photo-pros are ready to assist new and experienced
photographers capture spectacular underwater images on film. You'll enjoy large,
carpeted camera tables, camera-exclusive rinse tanks, and a camera friendly
crew.
Nekton carries video rental equipment onboard. In our salons we have a 42inch big
screen high definition television that is linked to a firewire equipped
computer with non-linear digital video editing software. DVD and VHS players
are also available as well as a library of videos to watch.
Photo Contest
Every week towards the end of the cruise Nekton has a photo contest onboard open
to all guests. Prospective contestants, who have been diligently taking digital
photos all week choose their best photo of the week and enter it in to the competition.
On the night of the contest during the after-dinner nightly presentation, all of
the contestant photos are anonymously displayed in a slide show and, by popular
vote (most applause) all of the guests choose a winner. The contest winner wins
a grand prize but more importantly, wins accolades from fellow divers and heaps
of self-esteem ;-)

Relaxing
You're
on vacation, so why not just relax on the sundeck or soothe your muscles in the
Jacuzzi? The ocean breeze is fresh and the sun is warm -- this is just the break
you needed.
Fine Dining
 No diving vacation would be
complete without generous fine dining between your diving. Of course your Nekton
cruise includes plenty of gourmet dining with lots of variety. The meals are served
in a combination of buffet and sit down -- after helping yourself at the buffet,
crew will offer you drinks, wait on you for seconds, and offer dessert and coffee.
We always have regular and decaf. coffee brewed and offer plenty of iced tea, water
and juices including grape, orange, cranberry, apple as well as Crystal Light and
Gatorade. Popcorn is also available for late night snacks.
